The groom wore trainers-Rupert Murdoch marries for the fifth time at 93
Mdia mogul Rupert Murdoch has embarked on his fifth marriage, this time to 67-year-old retired molecular biologist Elena Zhukova.
The intimate wedding took place at Moraga, Murdoch's picturesque vineyard and estate in California.

Elena Zhukova, originally from Moscow, looked elegant in a white, off-the-shoulder gown designed by London-based Emilia Wickstead, a favorite of the Princess of Wales and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. She carried a simple bouquet of lily of the valley.

Murdoch, ever the dignified groom, chose a sober grey suit paired with a gold tie, complemented by thick-soled trainers that suggested a nod to comfort.
The couple first met at a family gathering last year, with Murdoch ending his engagement to former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith not long before.

Murdoch's marital history is as storied as his media empire. His fourth marriage, to former model Jerry Hall, ended in divorce in August 2022. Prior to Hall, he was married to entrepreneur Wendi Deng, with whom he has two daughters who also attended this weekends wedding.
That marriage ended in 2014 after 14 years. His second wife, Scottish journalist Anna Murdoch Mann, bore him three children before their divorce in 1999. Murdoch's first marriage was to Patricia Booker, a former flight attendant, with whom he has one daughter. They divorced in 1966.

The union of Murdoch and Zhukova has been heralded as an 'ultimate power match' by society magazine Tatler. Elena Zhukova is well-acquainted with the upper echelons of wealth and influence.
Her first husband, Alexander Zhukov, is a billionaire through his energy investments. Their daughter, Dasha, was married to Roman Abramovich, the former owner of Chelsea FC and a prominent figure who amassed his fortune during Russia's 1990s privatisation era.
