Ireland weather: Met Éireann forecasts scattered showers with good spells of sunshine as temperatures cool
It may be the beginning of June but a mix of rain, sunshine and lower temperatures are on the cards today.
Met Éireann has forecast scattered showers with good spells of sunshine to follow amid cooler temperatures than previous days.
There will be cloudy conditions and damp weather today with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle and some mist.
This will clear southeastwards through the morning and early afternoon, with good spells of sunshine to follow.
Some showers will follow too with some of them heavy in north Ulster.
Highest temperatures of 12C in the northwest to 17C in the southeast.
Tonight will bring long clear spells and it'll be dry in many areas. There'll be some scattered showers around though, mainly in the north and a few in the west too.
A cold night for early summer is on the agenda tonight with lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees with the winds easing mostly light to moderate westerly or variable, a little fresher though along the north coast.
Tomorrow will be a cool, bright day with plenty of sunshine. There'll be a lot of dry weather, but there'll be some showers too.
Highest temperatures of just 11 to 15 degrees, in light to moderate westerly winds, fresher in northwestern and northern coastal parts.
Wednesday night will bring a good lot of dry weather with clear spells, but there'll be some further scattered showers at times, mainly in the north and west. Lowest temperatures 5 to 7 degrees.
Thursday will bring a mix of cloud and some good spells of sunshine. There'll be some scattered showers, most frequent in Ulster, a few heavy. The showers will be more isolated elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 12C to 15C are expected.
On Friday, the highest temperatures will be 13C to 17C.
Friday night will be mainly dry in most areas, but there'll be a scattering of showers around, mainly in the north and northwest.
Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees with westerly winds easing light to moderate in general, but a little fresher still in western and northern coastal parts.
Saturday will be a bright day with variable cloud and some good spells of sunshine. There'll be further scattered showers, especially further north, with showers more isolated elsewhere.
Temperatures are expected to reach up to 16C.
