Everyone Shares Same Diana Taurasi Opinion After Caitlin Clark's 11th WNBA Game
WNBA veteran Diana Taurasi came under fire ahead of the 2024 season for her comments surrounding No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark. In short, Taurasi argued that Clark would struggle in her first season with the Indiana Fever.
“Look, SVP, reality is coming,” Taurasi told ESPN's Scott Van Pelt about Clark in early April. “There’s levels to this thing. And that’s just life. We all went through it. You see it on the NBA side, and you’re going to see it on this side. You look superhuman playing against 18-year-olds, but you’re going to (be playing against) some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time.”
Fans took it as a shot at Clark, but Taurasi remained adamant that every player struggles, regardless of sport, going from the college to professional level. The Phoenix Mercury veteran felt her comments were taken out of context and weren't meant as a shot at Clark.
Fast forward to now, Clark and the Fever are 2-9 through 11 games. She just had the worst performance of her professional career, scoring just three points in a 104-68 loss to the New York Liberty.

Taurasi, meanwhile, dropped 31 points in the Mercury's 87-68 victory over the LA Sparks on Sunday night. She drained seven of her nine three-point attempts. Reminder: She's 41 years old.
Taurasi's performance, coupled with Clark's rough night, has WNBA fans thinking the same thing: Maybe Taurasi is right about what she said about Clark?
Fans feel like Taurasi deserves more respect and attention.
"And not a peep from ESPN too busy reporting on Catlin Clark’s ear ache. ESPITTIFULL," one fan said on X.
"Why are y’all bringing CC into everything??? This post is about the legend Diana so stay on topic," another fan commented.
"SHE DESERVES THE ROYAL TREATMENT. The WNBA should’ve put their stock behind her, Sue Bird and Candace Parker," one fan said.
Give Diana Taurasi the respect and recognition she deserves. She clearly knows what she's talking about while remaining one of the best hoopers in the game today.
