Attention Premier League fantasy managers: The excitement isn’t over yet! As the club season wraps up, a fresh challenge emerges with the UEFA Euros just around the corner.
And of course we have a fantasy mini-league for that. It’s time to shift your focus. We begin with a complete guide for both novices and experienced fantasy managers. We’ll delve into everything you need to know, from team selection and chips to maximizing your points throughout the tournament.
Getting Started with Euros Fantasy Football: Team Creation
Before diving into player picks, let’s ensure your Euros fantasy team is set up. Follow these simple steps:
- Head to the Official Website: Visit www.uefa.com/euro2024 in your browser. It’s at the same site as our Champions League fantasy league, so you might already have an account.
- Log in or Sign Up: Use your existing UEFA account or create a new, free account if you’re new.
- Navigate to Euros Fantasy: Click on the “Gaming” tab and select “Fantasy Football” from the dropdown menu.

Building Your Euros Fantasy Dream Team
With your blank team template ready, it’s time to assemble your champion squad! Here’s what you need to know (paraphrased from complete rules):
- Budget: Start with a €100 million budget, which increases to €105 million for the round of 16 onward. Spend wisely to create a well-balanced team.
- Squad Selection: Choose 15 players: 2 Goalkeepers, 5 Defenders, 5 Midfielders, and 3 Forwards.
- Player Limits per Country: The number of players you can select per country increases as the tournament progresses. Here’s the breakdown:
- Group Stage: Max 3 players from each country
- Round of 16: Max 4 players from each country
- Quarter-Finals: Max 5 players from each country
- Semi-Finals: Max 6 players from each country
- Final: Max 8 players from each country
If any of your players are knocked out of EURO 2024, they’ll stay in your squad. However, once they’re out of the competition, they won’t earn any more points.
Choosing your dream team is just the beginning. Here’s how to manage your squad for maximum points:
- Save & Deadlines: Save your team before each match-day deadline (first game kickoff).
- Automatic Subs: If a starter misses a game, your bench will automatically fill the spot, provided the formation remains valid.
- Flexible Formation: Choose any formation, but ensure at least 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 2 midfielders, and 1 forward.
- Double Trouble: Select a captain from your starting 11; his points will be doubled for that match-day.
- Captain Switch (Optional): Change your captain to another player playing later in the match-day if needed. This is a one-time chance.
- Captain Considerations: A captain who doesn’t play won’t score double points, even with automatic substitutions.
- Pro Tip: Pick your captain from a team playing on the first calendar day of a match-day. This allows you to switch captains later if needed.

Mastering Euros Fantasy Transfers
Transfers are crucial for keeping your team competitive. Here’s what you need to know:
Pre-Tournament: Make unlimited free transfers before kickoff.
Group Stage:
- 2 Free transfers are granted each match-day (no points deduction).
- Unused free transfers carry over only once (no stockpiling).
- Wildcard and Limitless chips eliminate unused free transfers.
- Knockout Stage: No free transfer carryover between matchdays.
- Price Changes: Player prices fluctuate based on real-life performance. Prices will continue to change throughout the tournament depending on points earned.
~
Here’s a breakdown of the quota of free transfers for each round of the competition:
- Group Stage: 2 free transfers per matchday
- Round of 16: Unlimited transfers
- Quarter-Finals: 3 free transfers
- Semi-Finals: 4 free transfers
- Final: 5 free transfers
Euros Fantasy 2024 Chips
Euros Fantasy offers two powerful chips to maximize your points: Wildcard and Limitless. Note: You won’t carry-over any unused free transfer after your chip even if you were already carrying an extra going in, so plan carefully.
~
Wildcard
The wildcard chip allows you to make unlimited free transfers before a match-day deadline. This is ideal for overhauling your squad based on upcoming fixtures, injuries, or player form. Once saved, these changes stick until you execute more transfers.
~
Limitless
The limitless chip lets you build a dream team for one match-day with unlimited free transfers and budget. This chip is perfect for targeting top-tier players regardless of cost, allowing you to maximize your potential points for one round.
However: This chip nullifies any transfers you’ve already made for its match-day (including points deductions for extra transfers), and after the match-day, your squad resets to its untouched, prior match-day roster.
