Arsenal icon Jack Wilshere has slammed ‘biased’ Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher for disrespecting legendary Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

Former midfielder Wilshere, now the head coach of Arsenal U18s, played the best football of his career under the Frenchman and they won two FA Cups together.

Given his special relationship with Wenger, Wilshere was irked by Carragher’s recent claim that Jurgen Klopp was a superior manager than his old boss.

Wilshere believes that Carragher’s opinion is ‘biased’ given his associations with Liverpool.

‘Klopp unbelievable how he transformed Liverpool but Arsene’s legacy in the Premier League is second to none,’ Wilshere posted on X.

‘Sorry Jamie but you are miles off it, please don’t be so biased and respect Arsene and what he done over a longer period, including leading the only team in the Premier League to be Invincible.

‘Everyone appreciates what Pep (Guardiola) has done and changed the way we see football in this country but don’t forget AW (Arsene Wenger) had a similar effect when he came in 96!

‘You know that era better than me and witnessed it so let’s not forget that!’

Wenger managed Arsenal from 1996 to 2018, winning three Premier League titles and delivering seven FA Cups.

He was crowned Premier League Manager of the Season on three occasions in 1998, 2002 and 2004 respectively.

By comparison, Klopp won just one Premier League title during his nine-year stint at Liverpool, missing out by just one point to Manchester City on two other occasions.

The German also led Liverpool to glory in the Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Club World Cup and Super Cup.

Klopp was named Premier League Manager of the Season twice, which came in 2020 and 2022.
