Lady Victoria Hervey stuns in a semi-sheer black floor-length gown as she attends the amfAR Gala during the 77th Cannes Film Festival

Lady Victoria Hervey cut a glamorous figure on Thursday as she attended the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala during the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

Victoria, 47, looked nothing short of sensational in a black floor-length gown which boasted a semi-sheer design.

The chic ensemble, which showed a glimpse of Victoria's slender figure, boasted a sheer floral velvet bust and featured a long satin train.

The socialite further accessorised the look with a pair of diamond gold earrings and carried a mini black clutch bag.

Victoria showed off her age-defying beauty as she struck up a pose on the red carpet and styled her luscious locks in voluminous waves.

She adorned a flawless palette of makeup and seemed in good spirits as she graced the carpet.

It comes after Victoria looked divine as she joined Kimberley Garner on the Kinds Of Kindness red carpet during the Cannes Film Festival last week.

The socialite cut a chic figure as she stepped out in a figure-hugging bedazzled mini dress which featured a sparkly gemstone choker.

She exuded glamour as she embraced the carpet with an elegant two-meter tulle train.

To accessorise she wore a silver sparkly box clutch, large silver earrings, and a pair of sensible metallic kitten heels.

Victoria appeared in high spirits for the evening as she showcased her natural beauty with a minimal makeup look and a tousled bun.

Each year, the gala held in Cannes brings a slew of A-listers to the south of France to bring awareness and raise funds for the nonprofit.

Cannes is the world's biggest film festival, first conceived in 1939 as an alternative to the then-fascist-influenced Venice Film Festival.

It has been held annually since 1946 except in 1948 and 1950, when it was cancelled due to lack of funds.

The festival is known for its carefully selected programme of films that have gone on to Oscar glory or launched the careers of directors like Quentin Tarantino.

Cannes' top prize is the Palme d'Or, or Golden Palm, whose past winners include Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now, Pulp Fiction, The Pianist and Parasite.

Jane Campion became the first female director to win in 1993 with The Piano, followed by a nearly three-decade gap until Julia Ducournau received the award for Titane in 2021.

Justine Triet became only the third female director to take the prize last year with Anatomy of a Fall.

There is also an honorary Palme d'Or, which is awarded in recognition of notable bodies of work, with past recipients including Harrison Ford, Jane Fonda and Clint Eastwood.

There are two honorary winners this year: George Lucas of 'Star Wars' and 'Indiana Jones' fame, and Japanese animation legend Studio Ghibli, the first group to receive the prize.

Other awards include the Grand Prix, jury prize, best director, best actor, best actress, best screenplay and best short film.
