Actors including Jason Flemyng, Tony Curran and David McKay today attended the funeral for Line Of Duty and Rob Roy star Brian McCardie after his death aged 59.

Peter Mullen and James McAnerney also remembered the Scottish star during the service at St Mary's Church in Lanark before a cremation at Holytown Crematorium.

McCardie, who grew up Carluke near Glasgow and died on April 28, played criminal boss turned police informant Tommy Hunter in the hit BBC crime show Line Of Duty.

He also had parts in Roman-set series Domina as Cicero, in time travel historical show Outlander as Sir Marcus MacRannoch, who offers help during a prison rescue attempt, and as the Irish leader James Connolly in 1916-set Rebellion.

In Rob Roy, McCardie starred as Alasdair MacGregor, the brother of the title character, who was played by Liam Neeson.
