Rutgers Football: Hollin Pierce lands on CFB Top 100 list for 2024 season
Hollin Pierce’s journey has been incredible. Now, the Scarlet Knight tackle has a chance to be one of the best players in college football in 2024.
Last week, On3 put together a list of the “Top 100 Players in College Football” for the upcoming season. Pierce represents the Scarlet Knights on this list at No. 98 overall.
Pierce was selected as the 16th overall offensive lineman and third in the Big Ten.
In 2023, Pierce started all 13 games at left tackle for Rutgers. He was named honorable mention All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media. This continued a streak of 37 consecutive games played along the offensive line for Rutgers.
Pierce led an offensive line that played in front of the Big Ten’s leading rusher Kyle Monangai, who finished with 1,262 yard. The team set a program record within the Big Ten with 276 rushing yards against Indiana. In total, the Scarlet Knights rushed for 2,193 yards last season, which was the most in a single-season since 2007.
Rutgers will feature a new quarterback this season in Minnesota transfer Athan Kaliakmanis. Monangai will return in the backfield as the offensive line looks to continue production. In 2023, Rutgers led the Big Ten in fewest sacks allowed per game at 1.08.
There is plenty of hope for Rutgers Football heading into the 2024 season. The offensive line has a chance to be productive and Pierce will return as the anchor on the left side.
