'No Way They're Better!' Gore Jr. Starts 53-Man Roster Bid at OTAs
Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft came and went. But Frank Gore Jr. went nowhere at all.
Gore's father is the legendary running back Frank Sr., who played with the Buffalo Bills among his many stops and fully understands the ups and downs of the business.
But 257 guys getting picked over the course of three days ... and no call for Frank Jr.?
Said Gore Jr. “I feel like there’s no way 257 people were better than me in this draft.''

And now he's a member of the Bills, trying to prove the other 31 NFL teams wrong.
Gore Jr. put up numbers in college: 4,714 yards from scrimmage and 30 total touchdowns during his four years at Southern Miss. But he's not a large guy and his athleticism doesn't jump out at scouts.
Still, maybe he's just a good football player, as many UDFA's have been before him.
Once he wasn't drafted, he said, “I was praying and hoping that I could come (to Buffalo). My prayers are answered.”
Gore has fond memories of Dad's time here, noting that "it was cold ... but I loved it here!”
How does he find his way to more days in Buffalo? The Bills running backs room doesn't have a lot of vacant chairs, with James Cook leading the way and with Buffalo having used a fourth-round pick on Ray Davis.
But all Gore wants is a chance to compete.
“[I’ll] come every day,” Gore Jr. said. “Come to learn. Come to get better. Find a way on special teams. Just anyway that I can help this team get over the hump and be able to contribute to the team.''
