Chlöe Bailey Teases New Song With Sister Halle Bailey at the 2024 BET Awards | THR Video
I know you've been very outspoken about your music and your journey and kind of being pigeonholed in R&B. So if you are venturing into the pop girl era, what does tonight mean to you? To know that here at BT, we honor everyone. Yes, it means everything to me, knowing that we are celebrating music of all types, all genres, and we're not putting ourselves in a box as a community. And you know, for me, I love dibbling and dabbling and pop alternative. R and BI still do that. But it's just nice knowing that we don't have to be suppressed and contained into something that society wants us to be. You know and I know you are your sister's keeper, so. Can we expect you guys to be collaborating on any new music anytime soon? Absolutely. There's a song on my upcoming album, Trouble in Paradise called Want Me that features are actually, so I'm really excited about that one. She kills it. As far as your new album, so are we entering into a new era? What can you tease about it? I feel so everybody of work for me is like a new era represents a new time for me and it's just more fun. Light hearted, feels tropical. I've fallen in love with the Caribbean. I wrote and finished the album in Saint Lucia, so you definitely hear the tropical vibes through there and how our emotions reflect through the weather. And I know you've been very open about loving the Caribbean because it's helped like your mental health. Why is mental health so hard in our community? It's so important because at the end of the day. It's just us looking at ourselves alone in the mirror, so we have to feel fulfilled in every way other other than things like this where we receive outer validation and it only like. Validates us temporarily. So it's good to find things outside of this and any advice that you can give to like a woman in her 20s or of any age really, as it pertains to navigating career like you and mental health and still maintaining our relationships that we have with people in our lives. Balance his keys, Yes, have a great, amazing career and be the strong, fearless, independent woman you are. But also make sure you're happy as well with your personal life. We can have both. We don't have to suffer and suffer in silence just to be this image that people want us to be. And you've been very confident with showing your image. So what does they not like us mean to you? They not like us. They don't have the confidence like us, like me, You know, that's what it feels. Like. It means so much to me. I cannot wait to see his tribute.
