Kyle Busch Unravels the "Exact Story" That Led to His New Hampshire Disaster

When Kyle Busch clenched his first win at Nashville Superspeedway, he acted like a star! He smashed a Les Paul trophy guitar and celebrated his win like a rockstar on June 7, 2009. Clint Bowyer earlier this week said Busch needs to get that "rockstar" status back! But it's easier said than done. Kyle Busch's disastrous season hit a new low at New Hampshire, where he crashed yet again, extending his winless streak to 38 races. Despite his efforts, Busch thus seems to have lost his confidence and his struggles on the track have left him searching for answers. In a candid interview, Busch revealed the exact story behind his New Hampshire disaster. And it seems like a tragic tale of lost traction, spinning out, and a desperate attempt to correct one's (car's) trajectory.

As per Kyle Busch, the #8 team is bleeding

Every week, NASCAR fans think they've seen the worst of Kyle Busch's struggles on the track. Yet, he continues to defy their expectations. It's almost like he has been cursed and every time he steps onto the track with his car, he crashes. He crashed at World Wide Technology when he got into contact with Larson. A week later he crashed at Sonoma, where he was spun out by Ross Chastain. Then a mechanical error took him out at Iowa and as for New Hampshire, he continued the streak and crashed!  He recently talked to the media after his 27th-place qualifying run for the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway and explained what exactly happened in New Hampshire. He said, "I think I broke traction and spun out. I lifted way early and soft-rolled into the corner, and it slid across three lanes, got on the old asphalt, turned sideways, and I tried to correct it to chase it. It just turned the other way and spun me out. That's exactly the story."

NASCAR: Cup Series Kyle Busch

Unable to stop his dismal runs and understanding the urgency of protecting his record of winning at least once in 19 consecutive races, Busch said, "We just have to stop the bleeding" and his frustrations are understandable. After all, he is a two-time champion, someone who swept the weekends. It's not like he is losing his mojo, it's just that he is stuck in a car unable to speed up. Talking about his on-track struggles, Busch admitted it himself, saying, "It's just speed and comfort. That's the biggest thing".   And Kevin Harvick too echoes the same thoughts when talking about Busch and his rather turbulent season.

Kevin Harvick bluntly calls Kyle Busch's situation a "disastrous mess"

Kyle Busch's struggles at RCR aren't new, but his downward spiral this season has been particularly dramatic. He hasn't scored a top-ten finish in six weeks and has finished outside the top 25 four times. To make matters worse, his last four races have ended in DNFs, including a crash at a Goodyear tire test - a stark contrast to his three wins and playoff cushion this time last year. It seems like his misery truly seems to have no end in sight. Kevin Harvick recently weighed in on Busch's situation and according to him, if things don't turn around quickly, it could spell big trouble for Busch. Kevin too highlighted what Busch said about speed, saying, "It's one of those scenarios where it just keeps getting worse. ["¦] I think that at some point it's easier to be in Christopher Bell's scenario because they at least had speed. He went through a rough patch of six or eight weeks with miserable finishes. But they all knew they had speed in the car. The problem with Kyle Busch's situation right now is that they just don't have any speed in their car for the most part." Harvick then summed up the Busch scenario in four words: "It's a disastrous mess."! Kyle Busch is running out of time to prove himself this season. Including this upcoming race, he has only eight races left to get his spot in the playoffs. What do you think Kyle Busch needs to up his game?
