According to the official Olympics website, this year's games will home 10,000 Olympic torchbearers, with celebrations taking place in over 400 towns and cities across France and its five overseas regions (French Guiana, Reunion Island, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, and Martinique).
Torchbearers have been hard at work with the torch relay since May 8 and will continue carrying out their duty until July 26, 2024, before coming back for a four-day stint (August 25-28) ahead of the Paralympic opening ceremony.
