Quinn Ewers listed as Manning Passing Academy standout

At this year's Manning Passing Academy, roughly 45 college quarterbacks took the field for the multi-day clinic, but only a handful were honored as the event's best.
One of those distinguished few was Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers for the second year in a row. Ewers' backup, Arch, is the nephew of the famous Manning brothers, making the honor perhaps even a bit more meaningful for the Longhorns star.
On3's article reviewing the event stated that Ewers was "among the best by routinely hitting on timing throws," a strength that should certainly shine brightly in Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood's offense this season.
Ewers was far from the only SEC passer to be named as a star of the event. However, half of the 12 quarterbacks highlighted by the On3 article came from the conference, in fact. Texas A&M's Conner Weigman, one of the less-heralded arms of the bunch, actually made it into the finals of the passing competition, hitting lots of moving targets despite being stuck in a format that did not highlight his greatest traits, athleticism and on-the-move passing.
Clearly, Ewers has plenty of stiff competition within his own conference, but he has every ability to float to the top of the bunch. He's surrounded by as much talent and strong offensive coaching as anyone else, and as he's proven since he was a highly-touted five-star high school recruit, few quarterbacks offer the arm talent he brings to the table for the Longhorns.
