ALEXANDRIA, 30th June, 2024 (WAM) -- Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), and the follow up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EAHS, the 6th Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Show of the 2024 season (EAHGC), held in the city of El Alamein on the northern coast of the Arab Republic of Egypt, saw a great deal of success and resonated well among Egyptian owners and breeders.

Held over three days with 161 Arabian horses for 65 owners, the championship was packed with fierce competition and excitement throughout the qualifying rounds onto the finals.

Director-General of the EAHS Mohamed Ahmed Al Harbi crowned the winners.

Yearling Fillies Championship gold was awarded to Anwaar Al Farida for Al Farida Stud, while the silver medal was awarded to Rahma Al Mozn owned by Al Mozn Stud, and the bronze medal belonged to Sukar Al Farida completing a nice double for the owner of the gold and bronze winners.

Meanwhile, in the Junior Fillies Championship Bahga Al Farida earned the golden medal ahead of her rivals with Taya Max Mareen bringing home the silver for Al Thaqib Stud, with the bronze medal going to Malika Al Hamd for Ahmedeyat Al Hamd.

The Senior Mare Championship witnessed tough competition, but the judges were confident that Ayla El Gabry Ox did enough to secure the win for El Gabry Stud, ahead of Aysha Al Baydaa who brought back the silver medal for Al Baydaa Stud, as Sayedah Al Farida continued to add to the list of Al Farida Stud winners in the competition.

The Al Farida Stud horses dominated the Yearling Colts Championship as well with Bassam Al Farida winning gold while Baareg Al Farida settled in third place for the bronze, while Salim Al Saragihna did enough to earn the silver medal for Al Saraghna Stud.

Owned by Al Gammal Stud, Fakhr Al Gammal was the clear best in the Junior Colts Championship ahead of Shaikh Al Yasser the silver medal winner for Al Yasser Stud, with Baseem Al Masry scoring just enough to settle in third place for the bronze.

Bebars Al Farida made sure to make a statement for Al Farida Stud as the golden medal winner in the Senior Stallions Championship, as Safir Al Khaldon landed the silver medal for Aal Ewayan Stud, and Karawan El Gabry Ox doubled the score for El Gabry Stud.

Speaking after the successful event, Al Harbi said, “In line with the sound directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow-up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup continues its journey of success with the 6th show which came out in a wonderful and impressive manner in the sisterly Republic of Egypt, which is considered one of the most prominent countries in terms of caring about Arabian horses.”

Al Harbi added that the 6th Show of the EAHGC saw a large participation with 161 horses taking part in the action, which is the largest number in the 1st edition of the EAHGC, confirming that the main goals of these events which are to support breeders and owners of Arabian horses all throughout the world, are being achieved. He also revealed that the EAHGC will shift its movement towards South America with the 7th show taking place in Brazil on the 7th of July.

Nasir Taleb Mushtahi, owner of Al Shorouq Stud, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his great ongoing support for Arabian horses and his directives to host the EAHGC, he also extended his appreciation to Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan for his follow-up and supervision on the organisation of the shows.

Al Mushtahi went on to add, “The organising committee was successful in putting together this exciting event in the beautiful tourist city of El Alamein, and the championship saw a very large participation by most of the studs in Egypt, exceeding all of our expectations, but the UAE is always linked to quality and masterful organisation of events, and this is what encourages many owners to participate with high-quality horses, earning proper media exposure with a wonderful event that the whole world can see”.

He revealed that 6 of his own horses participated in the championship, which was characterised by strength due to the best horses achieving the best and spoke highly of the championship’s excellent organisation.
