'Rise To Shine' docu celebrates Elasto Painters' playoff journey
RAIN or Shine exceeded expectations in its PBA 48th Season Philippine Cup campaign by reaching the semifinals for the first time in four years.
The Elasto Painters' memorable run gave the league a fresh look with an independent team fighting for a chance at making the finals - a journey the team celebrated with a short film that was posted on Wednesday.
The film entitled ‘Rise To Shine’ featured the sights and sounds of not just the action on the court during games but also behind-the-scenes clips on the bench and even inside the team’s dugout during the quarterfinals where they dispatched TNT in a best-of-three affair that went the full route.
The short documentary also featured interviews with head coach Yeng Guiao and players such as Gabe Norwood, Beau Belga, Andrei Caracut, and Gian Mamuyac.

The semifinals was the first for the franchise since the 2019 Commissioner's Cup. Rain or Shine eventually lost to San Miguel via sweep during the Final Four.
"This is about the unwavering spirit of a team that will RISE TO SHINE again," wrote the Elasto Painters on their social media page that has also been consistently posting vlogs about the team over the years.
