‘That’s my club, I love Kaizer Chiefs’ – Yaya
Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphephelo ‘Yaya’ Sithole has admitted to having talks with Kaizer Chiefs last year.
The 25-year-old is currently based in Europe with Portuguese Liga 2 side CD Tondela. Having impressed for Bafana Bafana during the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, the midfielder has attracted several European teams.
Speaking to PowerFM Sport, Yaya revealed he was a Kaizer Chiefs supporter. The star also confirmed that Amakhosi has talks with him but no official offer was put on the table.
“I’ve talked to Kaizer Chiefs, I think it was last season,” he said.
“And we didn’t continue with the negotiations until today. They didn’t submit an official offer, we were just talking and after that it stopped there.”

“That’s my club, I love Kaizer Chiefs,” he continued.
“I can’t close the door to Kaizer Chiefs but for my age, what I want right now I would love to continue in Europe.”
The tall midfielder has been in Europe for over six years now and says his goal is to stay there.
“I think I’m ready to compete wherever I can go, because I’ve been I’ve been in Europe for like six years, going into my seventh year,” Sithole added.

Although Kaizer Chiefs missed out on Yaya, the Soweto giants can bring in another top midfielder in Bongani Zungu. The 31-year-old former Bafana midfielder parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns two weeks ago.
