‘Not really interested’ - Fermin responds to Man Utd talk
Fermin Lopez says he’s “not interested” in a move to Manchester United amid speculation the Premier League side could try to tempt him to Old Trafford.
The Spain international was asked about the recent rumor published by Diario Sport and said he’s only thinking about Barcelona.
“I don’t read the press, I’m not really interested,” he told Relevo. “The important thing is that I want to be at Barça and I only think about Barça. Nothing else.”
Lopez also spoke about his decision to go to the Olympics with Spain this year and says he’s in good shape and looking forward to the tournament in Paris.
“Physically I feel fine. During the year I have worked hard to get to these months in perfect condition. I feel great, and looking forward to playing at the Olympics,” he added.
“In principle, Barcelona agree with me going, they have not posed any problem. They know that being in the Olympic Games is incredible for any athlete. They have supported me and told me to go.
“Pedri in 2021 is a case that happened, but that doesn’t mean that it will happen to everyone. He told me that it was a brutal experience, and advises me to go and enjoy it.”
Lopez will first finish the Euro 2024 campaign with Spain. The midfielder has only made one substitute appearance so far but will be hoping for more minutes in the knockout stages.
