Meet the Mets
The Mets offense scored early and often to sweep the Subway Series. After Sean Manaea escaped a bases loaded jam in the first inning, the offense took off led by Francisco Alvarez. He had three RBIs including a home run before the rains came and delayed the game for over an hour. When play resumed in the fifth the Mets added on three more runs. The Yankees did inch closer on an Aaron Judge home run, but home runs by Tyrone Taylor and Harrison Bader put the game out of reach. The team will now enjoy an off day before welcoming the Astros to Citi for a weekend series.
