Steelers' Wilson Works Out With DK Metcalf
Let the rumors commence.
Since trading away Diontae Johnson in March, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been linked to just about every star receiver conceivably on the market.
From San Francisco 49ers targets Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel to Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton, there has been no shortage of buzz, with varying levels of validity.

On Wednesday, attention turned to Seattle Seahawks star DK Metcalf.
John Shackelton posted a video of Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson throwing “moon balls” to his former battery mate in Metcalf.
The two played together for three seasons. Metcalf posted three consecutive 900-yard seasons, including a 1,300-yard campaign that landed him a second-team All-Pro selection. He scored 29 touchdowns across those two years.
The connection is there, and the chemistry is obvious.
And yet, the Pittsburgh faithful shouldn’t get its hopes up. Quarterbacks train with players on different teams all the time, especially so for teammates who spent time and succeeded together.
This shouldn’t be taken as anything more than a workout video. Wilson looked good, which is nice, but he isn’t on the recruiting trail.
Plus, Metcalf and Steelers receiver George Pickens are overlapping talents. Pickens and Johnson complement each other, one winning as the prototypical X, stretching the field, and making highlight grabs while the other won over the middle of the field and with the ball in his hands.
A Metcalf deal would be surprising in any form, and that hasn’t changed since Wednesday morning.
