"You win the game, do whatever you want" - Kevin Durant has no problem with Anthony Edwards' DX taunt in Game 3

Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant had a blatant response to Anthony Edwards’ DX celebration in Game 3 amid the Minnesota Timberwolves’ domination over the Phoenix Suns on their home floor. According to KD, he had no problem with the 22-year-old’s taunt because he had every right to it.
The Suns are in big trouble
There’s no sugarcoating that the Phoenix Suns have significantly unperformed in the playoffs and the regular season. After barely getting past the play-in bracket, they are now on the brink of elimination against a Wolves team that has been consistently great all year, especially on the defensive end. The same is the case in this series, with Minnesota completely shutting down the Suns’ big three.
In the last three games, the Suns have averaged 116.2 points, which is quite subpar, considering that they’re supposed to have three lethal scorers in Durant, Booker, and Beal. They clearly don’t have the defensive pieces to match up with the tallest team in the league, and as a result, the Wolves have won the last three games by a total of 54 points.
Based on the Suns players’ body language, it’s easy to tell that the team hasn’t gelled together. To be fair, they have dealt with many injuries over the regular season, specifically Beal and Booker. Still, former NBA head coach Mark Jackson didn’t use that as an excuse. Instead, he blamed the Suns’ struggles on soft play, bad habits, and poor roster construction.
What’s next for Phoenix?
After going all-in on this season, Phoenix has zero first-round picks from 2025-2039 and zero second-round picks from 2024-2030. As a result, they’re pretty much stuck with this group, with barely any assets to improve along the margins.
The Suns’ best chance to improve moving forward is by trading one of their core pieces or making their veteran minimum signings in the offseason.
This season was a high-risk-low-reward experience for Durant and the Suns. They’ll undoubtedly have an interesting offseason ahead, but right now, with how their campaign went this year, they deserved to be taunted by Edwards and the Wolves.
