Wayforward muistetaan muun muassa sellaisista peleistä kuin Shantae, River City Girls ja Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, ja heidän seuraava pelinsä on niin sanottu metroidvania nimeltä Yars Rising. Julkistus tehtiin Nintendon uusimman Indie World -lähetyksen humussa.

Pelaaja on nuori hakkeri Emi Kimura, jonka täytyy soluttautua pahaan yhtiöön QoTechiin. Luvassa on “monimutkaista kiinnostavaa mysteeriä”.
