primark shares major shopping update which will affect all 184 uk stores

Primark initially launched its click and collect services in 2022

Primark has confirmed it will roll out click and collect to all of its UK stores by the end of next year.

It comes after a successful trial last year saw 32 more stores introduce the service. Primark will start to roll out click and collect across all stores later this year and expects all of its 184 branches to offer it by the end of 2025. The retailer will announce the first set of stores to receive the service soon.

Alongside this, Primark is also expanding the service to include menswear, home and lifestyle items, allowing shoppers to browse over 3,000 items through click and collect. Currently, shoppers can only buy womenswear, kids’ clothing and accessories through click and collect.

Click and collect allows customers to browse items online before choosing a day and time to pick them up in store. The service is free to use but you need to spend a minimum of £10. Primark first launched click and collect in 25 stores in the north of England and Wales in November 2022 and later expanded the service to a further 32 stores last year. At the same time, Primark added womenswear to the service.

Paul Marchant, chief executive at Primark, said: “Primark will always be committed to offering the very best value and that’s made possible because of our simple and cost-efficient business model centred around our stores. Our trial of Click + Collect over the last 18 months has been about understanding how we can offer our customers greater convenience to shop with us wherever they are, but in a way that complements our business and our stores.

“We’re now confident that we’ve found a model that can do both and support us with our plans to grow the business. The feedback from our customers has been positive as they really value the convenience our service offers and we’re also seeing it’s reaching new customers too. I am excited to see this expand and give more people more reasons to choose Primark and discover the great value and ranges we have in store.”

The latest announcement may give shoppers hope for a home delivery service, which many have pleaded to add as an option. However, Primark’s boss has shut this down many times. In November 2023, the CEO of Primark’s owner – Associated British Foods – George Weston told the Sun: “We will never do home delivery, and never do it on the full range.”
