Wild swimmers, listen up! Speedo has just dropped a fab new open-water collection

Much like Marmite, wild swimming is a ‘love it or loathe it’ kind of sport. Die-hard fans wax lyrical about the joys of being immersed in nature, as well as its many health and fitness benefits – studies have shown that wild swimming can help with depression and weight loss, as well as boosting the immune system and muscle strength – while naysayers balk at the idea of plunging into potentially freezing cold, murky, weed-strewn waters.

But no matter which camp you fall into, there’s no denying that open water swimming is having a serious moment right now. Britain’s ponds, lakes and reservoirs are fast becoming the fitness hotspots du jour, and not just because the weather is finally taking a turn for the better (though that does make it all the more appealing).

In fact, such is the increased popularity of wild swimming, that Speedo has just dropped an entire collection dedicated to the sport, helping to kit out longtime devotees and perhaps even entice some newbies to boot.

SHOP SPEEDO WILD SWIM COLLECTION

Available online from today, Speedo’s ‘Wild Swim’ capsule includes everything from goggles and gloves to changing robes that will help keep you comfy and toasty both in and out of the water – with prices ranging from £14-£250.

And the standout item? It has to be the thermal swimsuit, that features lightweight Chloroprene rubber for a second-skin feel, as well as neon yellow details to provide better underwater visibility. Not to mention it looks pretty slick, too.
