Where were you when DAP attacked us, MCA man asks Lokman

Neow Choo Seong questions Lokman Noor Adam’s commitment to teamwork, saying that the latter was absent during attacks on MCA by DAP leaders.

PETALING JAYA: An MCA leader has questioned Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam’s commitment on working as a team following the latter’s call for MCA to clarify its position in the unity government.

MCA Youth information chief Neow Choo Seong, speaking to FMT, said: “If Lokman believes in teamwork, where was he when MCA was under attack by DAP leaders? Where was Lokman when Loke Siew Fook from DAP condemned MCA recently?”

Last month, Loke, the DAP secretary-general, had spoken of his dislike of MCA, labelling it a “towkay” party that neglected the Chinese community’s interests.

Neow said Lokman should refrain from openly commenting on MCA’s stance, as such matters should be discussed only among BN Supreme Council members. He said Lokman “has no authority or standing” to openly comment or discuss MCA party matters.

On Wednesday night, Lokman called on MCA to decide on whether the party wants to continue being part of the unity government comprising Pakatan Harapan, BN, and East Malaysian parties.

He said when BN decides to be in a team “we must show that we are a team player”. MCA must also contribute to strengthening the unity government if they want to be treated fairly, he said after MCA announced it would not campaign for any non-BN candidate in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

MCA secretary-general Chong Sin Woon, when contacted, opted not to entertain Lokman. “No need to respond to him.”
