The Folley in Cheltenham, where 125 homes could be built
Dozens of new family homes could be built on a playing field just outside a town centre, under proposals being shared with residents. There are plans to build 125 homes on The Folley, off Swindon Road, Cheltenham.
The privately-owned playing field is no longer used and has been earmarked for the homes as well as open public space. There would be an emphasis on affordable homes to buy as well as homes to rent.
As well as housing, the proposals have suggested a new sports pitch, complete with sporting facilities. A sports club with its own parking has also been put forward for consideration by housing association, Aster Group.
The site is near Gardners Lane Primary School and the Midwinter Allotments. It is within walking distance of the Prince of Wales Stadium and Leisure at Cheltenham.
Information shared with the public says the 125 homes would be family homes, of a range of type and sizes. There would also be tree planting and pedestrian and cycle links to parks, services and the town centre.
