Season 2 of Chapter 5 in Fortnite has proven to be an exciting season for the battle royale title. An incredible amount of fun additions to the game have made this era of Fortnite arguably one of the most fun in a long time. Fortnite’s world being shaken up by the arrival of the Greek gods has offered thrilling combat, but there could also be in-game clues pointing to where Season 3 is headed.

Not only has Fortnite added some exciting special items and weapons inspired by the Greek god pantheon in Season 2, but the game has recently added a fantastic Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover to the mix, complete with elemental bending. As the current Season hits its halfway point, there are questions about what to expect from Season 3. There are some things that are known for certain, while others are currently rumors, but all will be revealed when Season 3 of Chapter 5 rings in the summer.

Release Date For Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite

  • After May 24th, 2024

As of now, Chapter 5 Season 3 should arrive at the end of May. This is the scheduled end date for Season 2, so it only makes sense that this is when Season 3 would kick off. There are a lot of exciting things coming to Fortnite in May, but the end of the Season is bound to go out with a bang. Although Season 2 ends on May 24, there is downtime to be expected with the game’s servers, so there could potentially be a delay in Season 3’s launch.

New Skins and Crossovers

With every new Season of Fortnite comes plenty of exciting crossovers that offer some great skins. Whether it’s the recent Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration or even skins inspired by the Coachella music festival, Fortnite makes sure to pack its Item Shop full of new content for players to pick through.

Rumors Surrounding Fortnite’s Next Season Theme

Merely days after Season 2 Chapter 5 launched, rumors about Fortnite’s next chapter had already begun to swirl around the game’s community. However, there may be some weight to these theories, as in-game clues may be pointing towards what’s in store for Season 3. The prevailing theory is that Season 3’s theme will be an apocalyptic wasteland. The biggest proof that currently backs up these rumors is from some of the dialogue spoken by The Oracle. When players interact with The Oracle, she speaks of “dark skies” and “choking dust” that are soon to be on the horizon.

There have always been plenty of rumors about Fortnite since the game began, but sometimes these leaks and speculations prove to be true. The theories about a post-apocalyptic wasteland may just be the work of some players jumping to conclusions, but including such specific dialogue for The Oracle to speak only makes sense if her words are an omen of what’s to come in the game.

Fortnite’s Future Plans

Since 2017, Epic Games has been working year after year to improve Fortnite in major ways. From the amazing variety of skins for players to choose between to bigger and better events, Fortnite has managed to stay on top of the battle royale genre because of its constantly changing nature. With all the new modes and options for players to dive into, Fortnite offers something for almost every type of playing style. There may not be any solid information about what comes next in Chapter 5 Season 3, but it’s probably safe to assume that Fortnite will try to one-up itself once again.
