We want to take another look at our schools in Quebec and what are some of the issues affecting students and staff? Well, a consultation is underway to find out what concerns Quebec is the most and what to focus on. Isabelle Willette Moray is a professor at University of Morial and the Director of Innovation at Lobzelle Vetois Political, Accion a la sante de Zanfa, the Observatory for Children’s Education and Health. Welcome Isabel. Thank you for having me. So my understanding is this centre had already been looking at the effects since the pandemic. But my question is why another consultation? This is the question I would say and the the all previous consultation have been good, have been bringing a light at the conditions that students, parents and teachers are facing in our school system. But this one is a little bit different in in a way that it brings up all the stakeholder to say what for them seems to be the priority amongst all the concerns that schools are facing and also what could be the strategies to be facing and reducing those those problems. OK, So what are some of the issues we could be talking about here? So there’s a lot of issues that the participant will be able to describe how priority it is for them. So there’s mental health issues or anxiety. We’re talking about a lot of screen time. How to deal with screen time? How does it affect their capacity to socialize also with peers, with adults, how to be online but also going way more broad and also looking at how they are engaged in schools, How about their capacity to regulate the emotions and how about schools, teachers, Yeah, what we’re facing and for them how important it is all of these issues. So it’s really to get a 360 kind of a portraits of how everyone is similarly concerned about these issues or differently concerns about these issues. Well, let’s talk about the English speaking community because they do have concerns. I think also with the language laws, there’s some confusions as to where they’ll their services in English and French and then students are studying that can create an anxiety. So what do you hope to hear from them? Because they are a part of the tool as well. But that’s the thing we wanted them to be also included in the in the consultation because their voice is important and if you want to make create change we need first to establish what should be your goals and to which extents we share our goals. So they they will be invited to identify their priorities the same way as the other participant. But they we could be, we could have that showing if there is a difference or if we have the same concerns, OK, we have maybe less than a minute. So the consultation, it starts today and my understanding people can sign up at triple W observe at four points AM. But after this consultation, what’s the next step going forward? This is the first step. The first step is to identify the issues that are seen as the priorities, to identify the strategies. And there would be a second step in that consultation which would be to bring together all the strategies and identify those that are more impactful and seen as be more feasible. And then we will start the conversation trying to do things a little bit differently together. There’ll be conversations with the ministry. They would be invited there, They know and and some of their departments have been involved in bringing this consultation. And I’m sure they would be interested in the data that would be informed about the data. And the conversation will include everyone who wants to work on these issues. OK. Thank you so much, Isabel. It’s very interesting. Thank you. Welcome.
