Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is strongly associated with obesity, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy dietary habits are risk factors associated with NAFLD. If left untreated may lead to progressive liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, liver cancer and cardiovascular risk. Lifestyle changes to promote weight loss through dietary changes and physical exercise decreases NAFLD severity.
