'We're not done': Andre De Grasse and Canada's 4x100m relay men have more to give at Paris 2024
Remarkably, Aaron, that’s a first medal in the men’s. 100m relay at the world relays the silver described the moment. I mean I’ve been a part of some blunders with the four by one here, so it was good to get that off our back and get on the podium. Obviously we’re disappointed. We want to win, but we know we got to fix to get there at the top of the podium in Paris. So we’re not done. You know a lot of us are just starting up our season starting to get into shape. When we get our guns ready we’ll be ready to fire. Have you done the kill? Conversion from 20,000 USD to Canadian. I haven’t because I live in the States, so I need all that USD, every bit of it. No conversion for me. Jerome, you said you were the Pirates of the Caribbean and you stole silver here tonight. How does it feel? It feels great. But I mean, it’s not what we wanted, but we’re we’re pretty happy with it. You know, as, as AB said it’s the first middle of the World Relays. We’re pretty happy with it. But you know, as a pirate, you want the shiny stuff. You won’t go. But it’s all good when when the time is right, which was in Paris, like we’ll get there. I know that for a fact, we’ll get there pregnant and still early in the season, but not far off the national record time when you guys stunned the Americans. So you got to like this performance here tonight. Great performance, you know, so stepping stone to Paris and, you know, every day we just ought to keep getting better and better. And, you know, from there, you know, the sky is the limit, Andre. A lot of camaraderie with the Americans you train with a lot of them. Can we expect this to be the showdown in Paris? Yeah, I think it’s going to be. US, you know, the US and probably Italy. I mean, I think we’re the top three contenders right now. Of course, there’s a sleeper team, Japan and and France. But yeah, I mean, we’re feeling good. I mean, we’re happy with the performance. Go back and look at some stuff. We know that we ran 37, four with what the US won today with the gold, So we know we can run that. And so it’s just about, it’s just about putting it all together when it counts. And I think it’s early in the season. So we’ll go back, you know, all of us will go back to our respective camps. You know work on our craft, get ready for the the trials and then of course the Olympic Games and then. Come back together and try to do it all over again. How nice is it to get sort of a a higher pressure situation this early in a tune up for Paris. Oh yeah, it’s a great. I mean this is building a lot of experience for us. I mean, you know, last time I ran with this group was Oregon. This crowd was amazing. It was loud. We have to yell at each other to hear the communication of the stick. So it’s going to be loud in Paris as well. So this is this atmosphere kind of build us up for that. Congratulations. Thank you guys.
