Cinderella, Cinderella, do you live in an English Tudor home in Los Angeles’ Beverly Grove neighborhood? You would think so with @vintagehousehunter’s latest video of a beautiful vintage 1927 storybook home that is straight out of a fairytale. The house, which just recently went on the market, is selling for $2,085,000, has three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a tree-lined backyard, and a two-car garage that sits on the back of the property.
Upon walking up to the home viewers are met with the classic black wrought iron metal gates that open to a small walkway equipped with dark wood ceiling beams, archways, brick pavers, and matching black wall sconces. The wood door sports a cast iron speakeasy grill adding to the mixed-material facade.
Devil’s in the Details
Creams, varying shades of brown, and off-white tones were commonplace for exteriors during the medieval period. But as she steps inside the living room, she is met with even more clean off-white walls stacked up against dark wood floors creating a cohesion between the exterior and interior. The focal point of the living room is undoubtedly the fireplace which boasts an intriguing shape and red brick hearth that adds a subtle pop of color to the space. The pops of color aren’t just segregated in the living room. The three bathrooms are also dressed with several types of teal tiles that are sure to transport you back in time.
Where Modern Meets Historical
While the house has been updated with a fresh coat of paint and refinished floors, the original charm remnant of the late 1800s and mid-1900s is still prevalent today. Simple arched doorways, which are common features of a Tudor-style home, are placed carefully throughout the space. You also see your fair share of stained glass integrated with several newer windows.
Unique Features Beyond the Stained Glass
The character of this house goes far beyond the stained glass and arched doorways. Off the living room is a library nook equipped with shelves and a small window so you can store all of your favorite books right next to the giant reading room. Walking through the rest of the house, you’ll find a phone nook which she states was previously used as an office. While we’re used to carrying our phones around in our pockets, years ago, homeowners created dedicated spaces inside their abodes to store their big bulky phones and have conversations away from the rest of the home.
If you’ve dreamed of being Cinderella since you were a child, this might just be the home for you. With the high price tag and historical architecture, you are getting a house in one of the best neighborhoods in LA.
