It was just 15 days back that Vijay’s film with Trisha ‘Ghilli’ was re-released in theatres and the movie made a massive record at the box office by earning more than Rs 30 crore in two weeks. Now, joining the list, Vijay’s film with Nayanthara ‘Villu’ will be out in theatres soon.
The producer of the film took to social media to announce that the movie will be released in theatres again on the occasion of Vijay’s 50th birthday.
The announcement read, “Get ready, Vijay fans! We have an exciting announcement that is sure to get your hearts racing. On 21st June, 2024, in celebration of our beloved Ilaiya #Thalapathy #Vijay’s 50th birthday, the legendary film #Villu will be released worldwide. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the magic of our one and only Vijay on the big screen.”

However the announcement has bought disapproval among the fans as they do not want to witness the film on big screens again. Netizens requested the makers to re-release Vijay’s vintage films like ‘Kushi’, ‘Thuppaki’, ‘Sachin’, and said that they don’t want to watch ‘Villu’.
Directed by Prabhu Deva, ‘Villu’ is a comedy action drama starring Vijay, Nayanthara, Vadivelu, Prakash Raj in lead roles and the music for the movie is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film did not receive positive feedbacks from the movie audience when it was released. It is the official remake of the Hindi film ‘Soldier’ that starred Bobby Deol.
Meanwhile, Vijay who was last seen in ‘Leo’ is now shooting for his next ‘GOAT’ aka ‘Greatest of All Time’ helmed by Venkat Prabhu. The movie is a science fiction action drama and the cast includes Vijay, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Laila, Sneha, Ajmal, VTV Ganesh, Jayaram, Parvathi Nair, Yogi Babu, Premji, Vaibhav among others and the music for it is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is set for its release in theatres on September 5, 2024.
