He’s known for his moves in Saturday Night Fever and Grease, however John Travolta learnt a new dance on Wednesday evening.
Attending the Sanremo music festival in Italy, the actor looked less than pleased to be volunteered for the number as he performed alongside hosts Fiorello and Amadeus outside the Ariston theatre.
Surrounded by people in chicken costumes, the threesome performed the Italian ‘Il Ballo del Qua Qua’ or ‘Bird Song’, yet the Hollywood star failed to crack a smile as he performed the moves.
As the iconic tune began John clapped his hands, wiggled his hips and wafted his chicken wings.
However while the Italian hosts looked to be having the time of their lives smiling and laughing, John remained expressionless.
John Travolta *really* doesn’t want you to see this.
The internet wants to make sure you do:

John Travolta, 69, looked unimpressed as he failed to crack a smile during Chicken dance at the Sanremo music festival in Italy on Wednesday

Prior to the performance even beginning, John was passed a matching orange duck bill hat to wear.
Not even attempting to put it on, John tossed the accessory aside before adding ‘It was too tight’.
During the festival, John took to the stage as he improvised as a dance teacher for Amadeus as he performed the moves to Saturday Night Fever first before moving on to Grease Lightning.
It didn’t stop there as the star then performed the moves to You Never Can Tell from Pulp Fiction as Amadeus took off his shoes to complete the moves.
Fans took to Twitter as they reacted to him looking less than pleased to be forced into the Chicken Dance.
One commented: ‘His face says it all’ while another joked: ‘What the duck!’
A third explained: ‘For those missing the context here: Italy gets a little wild during the Sanremo week, and if you’re in it for the money — like Travolta — then you can’t complain you got played or made to do silly stuff. They made you do a kiddie dance. So what?’
Another found a clip of him throwing the hat away as they wrote: ‘John Travolta refuses to wear a hat for the chicken dance.’

The star is no stranger to dancing on TV after he most recently transformed into Santa Claus and recreated his incredible 1977 Saturday Night Fever dance for a new Capital One advert in November 2023.
The acting legend was unrecognizable as he sported flowing white locks and a bushy beard for the advert – which saw him recreate his famed Staying Alive routine as Tony Manero.
John donned the festive figure’s cozy red and white outfit as he strutted down the street – before ending the advert with a dance to The Bee Gees legacy track from the film.
The star also re-created his famous Pulp Fiction dance from the scene from the 1994 film on Italian talk show Che Tempo Che Fa back in 2019.
