Victor Wembanyama Will Miss One Game of Trail Blazers Back-to-Back
Victor Wembanyama Will Miss One Game of Trail Blazers Back-to-Back
The Portland Trail Blazers have a pair of games against the San Antonio Spurs coming up on December 28th and 29th. However, the Spurs’ featured rookie Victor Wembanyama will only be suiting up for one of the two games according to Jeff McDonald of San Antonio Express-News.
Pop has categorically ruled out Victor Wembanyama from playing both ends of the upcoming b2b in Portland.
He’ll play one or the other.
Wembanyama missed a game against the Dallas Mavericks on December 23rd after stepping on a ball boy’s foot in warmups. He appeared in the Spurs’ most recent game against the Jazz, but it seems like Gregg Popovich will be exercising an abundance of caution by holding Wembanyama out for one of the games in the back-to-back.
Wembanyama was taken first overall in the 2023 draft last summer. He has averaged 18.3 blocks, 10.6 rebounds and leads the league with 3.0 blocks per game so far in his rookie season.
The Spurs have not yet said which of the two games that Wembanyama will miss.
