Mango peel, like the peel of many fruits and vegetables, are nutritionally dense and are therefore good for you. Mango peel is high in vitamin C, vitamin E, polyphenols and carotenoids which all function as powerful dietary antioxidants that help to protect the body from free radicals; this in return helps to protect your body from a variety of diseases. Mango peel is also exceptionally high in fibre which can help with digestion, lowering cholesterol, lowering blood pressure and controlling blood sugar levels.

As with most other fruit peel, mango peel has a rich content of about 45-78% fiber. Fiber helps to add bulk to stool, this reduce the risk of constipation and may prevent colon cancer. Fiber may also be involved in the maintenance of the amount of cholesterol and glucose released to the blood stream from the food consumed. Mango peel also contains some vitamins and other important antioxidant compounds which help to build immunity and fight diseases.
