Calvin Abueva doubtful for Game 3 after suffering slight nose fracture

CALVIN Abueva could potentially miss Game Three of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals, one of the three close-out games for Magnolia against Phoenix in their series.

Abueva said he injured his nose while attempting to intercept a pass to Johnathan Williams during the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against Phoenix .

Magnolia will look to clinch a finals berth via sweep on Sunday when it faces Phoenix again at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Tinamaan,” said Abueva, referring to his nose.

Despite being hit in the nose, Abueva still played for 15 minutes and 34 seconds and ended up with eight points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Abueva said he is determined to play so much that he plans to find the protective mask he wore in 2012 when he suffered a broken nose when he was still playing for Alaska.

But first, he has to get a clearance from the doctor.
