Umno committing biggest form of betrayal on BN - Ramasamy

SHAH ALAM – Malaysian United People’s Party (Urimai) President P Ramasamy criticised Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail’s statement who called him a traitor, instead stating that Umno is the one committing the betrayal against Barisan Nasional (BN)’s component parties.

He claimed that Umno had marginalised MCA and MIC in Malaysian politics.

“Today, the Barisan Nasional coalition only exists as a name. Umno has already taken over everything and buried the actual activity of the coalition.

“MCA and MIC, who are loyal to Umno, have now been removed from the political context. Is this not the greatest betrayal by Umno?” he questioned in his statement on Monday.

On Sunday, Wan Rosdy who is also Umno Vice President said that Ramasamy was not the one to talk about betrayal following the action of the former Penang Deputy Chief Minister, who pointed out Umno Secretary General’s Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki’s claim that Bersatu was ‘born out of betrayal.’

Wan Rosdy said this was because Ramasamy himself left DAP and built a new party after not being listed as a candidate in GE-15.

Ramasamy explained that he only did so for Asyraf to be more careful with his statements because Umno is now in a party coalition with the PKR and DAP, who used to be their main enemies.

“As I have referred to Asyraf, Umno does not have a problem cooperating with PKR, a piece of Umno, as well as Bersatu. If Bersatu is announced as a traitor, the same nickname goes to the PKR.

“But, hypocrisy and greediness of Umno leaders who are thirsty for power are obvious when they say not to compare them with PKR,” he said.

He further said that the position of Umno now is like a candle that is shining brightly until it is put off forever, and that is why Umno acknowledged it long before and tried to win the Malay Malaysian voters.

“It seems impossible for Umno to come up as the victor for the Malay Malaysian community. Pas and Bersatu have been taking that position a long time ago.

“Maybe the time has come for Wan Rosdy to review his position in Pahang, which is lacking progression,” he said.
