Polish farmers continue to block three checkpoints. Yesterday, on April 15, they did not let a single truck from Ukraine through, according to Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU).

According to Demchenko, the blocked checkpoints include:

・Yahodyn

・Rava-Ruska

・Uhryniv

Polish farmers let several trucks through per hour or restrict traffic altogether.

“Over the past day, Polish protesters did not allow trucks to cross into Poland at all through these three checkpoints,” he adds.

In particular, farmers did not allow trucks to cross into Ukraine through the Uhryniv checkpoint yesterday.

Yahodyn

Over the past day, Polish farmers allowed only 70 trucks to leave Poland, although this is the largest infrastructure area for crossing the border by trucks. In total, the checkpoint is capable of handling about 1,400 trucks in both directions.

Queues

As of this morning, April 16, there are about 600 trucks in queues in Poland.

“Cars and buses are crossing the border freely everywhere, there are no restrictions on traffic for this category of vehicles on the other side of the border,” adds Demchenko.

Border blockade

In February, Polish farmers began protests across the country. They oppose the import of Ukrainian food, as it allegedly affects prices on the domestic market.

In early March, farmers announced that the protests would continue until April 30.

Recently, Ukraine, together with Poland and the EU, held talks to resolve the grain issue. Following the meeting, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Kyiv has five steps to resolve the problem.
