Police continue investigations into three bodies found at two Sydney locations
Ongoing testing has cleared two more Sydney schools of asbestos contamination, as the Environment Protection Authority continues to trace the spread of tainted mulch.
Mount Annan Christian College at Currans Hill, and Trinity Catholic Primary School at Kemps Creek both returned negative results for asbestos testing.
The total number of asbestos-positive sites around Sydney and New South Wales remains at 47 as of this morning.
The EPA said as of 6 pm yesterday, 798 negative tests had come back since the initial discovery of contaminated mulch on January 10.
Precautionary testing will be taken at three health facilities – Macquarie Hospital, Tresillian at Wollstonecraft, and Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice.
At-risk areas will be cordoned off.
An area next to a pathway under a bridge on Lilyfield Road, Lilyfield is also being tested as a precaution.
The Inner West Council has advised most of the affected area is not accessible to the public, and the whole site is now fenced off.
Visit the EPA website for the latest details.
