Masters sleepers picks 2024: Tony Finau, Wyndham Clark headline top 8 best bets to win and fun props

As we inch ever closer to the start of the 2024 Masters, the expert betting picks and outright winner predictions will continue to flood the Internet.

Most best bets articles will involve the odds-on favorites, especially top-three ranked golfers Scottie Scheffler (+450), Rory McIlroy (+1100), and Jon Rahm (+1100).

However, if the 2024 PGA Tour has taught us anything to this point, it’s that betting the sleepers, values, and long shots to win big tournaments can be a very lucrative endeavor.

Outside of Scheffler at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and PLAYERS Championship and Wyndham Clark at Pebble Beach, the pros at the top of the world golf rankings have been noticeably quiet in 2024.

Will the trend of sleepers and long shots winning it big continue at Augusta National this weekend? We think it’s a distinct possibility, and we will certainly be putting way more money into value bets than the chalk atop the outright winner board.

Let’s get to our sleepers, value bets, and top long shots to win the green jacket at the 2024 Masters, and also highlight our favorite exotic props for the weekend.

Masters sleepers picks 2024

Tony Finau (+3500)

Finau perennially serves as one of the best sleepers in the Masters’ field to win outright. Coming off a T2 finish at the Houston Open, we couldn’t imagine a better value to win outright at Augusta this weekend.

Finau’s well-rounded game translates perfectly to the Masters. He’s known as one of the longest bombers on TOUR, but he also has elite tee-to-green, approach, and scrambling skills.

He has never won a green jacket — or any major, for that matter — but Finau has always played well at Augusta. Across six Masters starts, he has three top-10 finishes. He’s also never missed the cut.

Anyone who hits fairways with Finau’s consistency and also demonstrates a strong short game has a chance to capture magic off Magnolia Lane. He’s a fantastic sleeper pick to win it all at +3500.

Jordan Spieth (+2500)

Spieth will be making his 11th appearance at Augusta National this weekend. The 2015 Masters champ by four strokes, Spieth always has a chance to contend for a green jacket.

Spieth has finished among the top four at Augusta National a whopping six times, and he’s still just 30 years old. He has been driving and putting very well so far this year, making him a par-4 maestro and a birdie machine. A modest bet on Spieth makes sense here.

Wyndham Clark (+4500)

If you’re looking for a mid-tier longshot, this is our best value bet.

Clark has crept his way up to No. 4 on the OWGR, yet he’s getting 40-to-1 odds to win this weekend. Sure, he’s never played Augusta National before, but let’s give a little more credit to the guy who shot a course-record 60 at Pebble Beach just a couple months ago.

The 30-year-old Clark also won his first major last year when he bagged the U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club, so nobody should be doubting his nerves at such a prolific major event. His temper used to be an issue, but he has been phenomenal since employing the services of a sports psychologist to calm him down during tournaments.

Clark has a number of attributes that make him a contender this weekend: he’s a long driver, a solid putter, and a birdie machine once he gets hot. Drop a $10 wager on Clark and root for a guy making his Masters debut.

Eric Cole (+25000)

We can’t offer up some sleepers without truly looking down the list for true long shot lottery tickets.

Enter Cole, our favorite rookie sleepers.

Cole winning a green jacket this weekend would net bettors a $2,500 profit on a $10 outright bet. The 2023 PGA Rookie of the Year, Cole put together a number of top-10 finishes last season thanks to his strong ball-striking and solid short game. Don’t put too much on any long shot, but make Cole the priority if you’re going for a lotto-ticket sleeper.

Masters picks 2024: Best bets to place

Sahith Theegala to place top 20 (+160)

Theegala had never played a Masters before 2023, when he busted onto the scene and mounted a ninth-place finish. Ranked No. 15 in the world, Theegala has four top-10 finishes this season, three of which have come over his past five tournaments. He has a solid skill set across the board, and he can get hot in a hurry. The betting value feels insanely good here.

Collin Morikawa to place top 30 (-150)

The seemingly always-underrated Morikawa has the stellar tee-to-green and approach skills needed to contend at the Masters. He has tremendous accuracy with the driver and iron, and could easily make a run at the top of this weekend’s leaderboard if he can get it going with the flat-stick.

Don’t mind the juice — this is about as good as you can get for a minus-odds Masters bet. Morikawa has finished 18th or better in each of his past three Masters starts, including top-10 finishes in each of the last two years. He has shot even par or better in six of his past nine rounds at Augusta National.

Masters best prop bets 2024

Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm both finish in the top 10 (+250)

DraftKings always has some cool finish parlays, and we fell in love with this one the moment we saw it. Scheffler remains the most dominant golfer and ice-in-the-veins major competitor in the world and Rahm will be defending his 2023 Masters championship. And we get +250 odds!? Brilliant!

Scheffler has two tournament wins this season already and has a green jacket to his name already, while Rahm has enjoyed a strong year on the LIV tour. Both have stellar ball-striking skills and dominate with their greens-in-regulation numbers. We can’t imagine a better finish parlay than Scheffler and Rahm.

Scheffler (+120) over Rory McIlroy (+190) and Xander Schauffele (+225)

McIlroy and Schauffele are obviously two of the best golfers in the world, but Scheffler is in a whole different stratosphere. Nobody has a better all-around skill set, mindset, or ability to adapt to any situation in front of him.

While we wouldn’t bet Scheffler +450 to win the tournament — outright odds that short yield no value whatsoever — we would absolutely hammer him at +120 to finish with a lower score than McIlroy and Schauffele.
