TVLine Items: Emily VanCamp’s New Show, Phillipa Soo Joins Ryan Murphy’s Dr. Odyssey and More

Emily VanCamp (The Resident, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) will tackle intolerance with her next role.

The actress is set to lead Prejudice, a Canadian legal procedural from Celeste Parr (Hudson & Rex, This Life), our sister site Deadline reports.

VanCamp will portray Liesl Wellington, a rising Toronto litigator whose life is upended when her past as a sex worker comes to light. Ostracized by her professional and personal circles, she launches her own law firm to defend those who’ve also been silenced and delegitimized.

The show currently isn’t attached to a network, but it is described as a “heartening legal drama that takes on all the forces that conspire to keep the underdog hidden, silent, unequal and without agency,” per Keren Shahar, CEO of Keshet International – one of the show’s distributors.
