Orlando Pirates legend picks best new signing in Mayfair

Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi has picked two new signings that have impressed him at the club.

Joining the mighty Buccaneers is always daunting and not every player can manage the pressure that comes with the heavy emblem.

But two new signings have impressed the former captain so far this season. Take a look at his picks below.

Two Orlando Pirates signings stand out – Lucky

“You know they have already won one trophy already that’s an achievement. And look at how Melusi (Buthelezi) and Patrick Maswanganyi played in the Soweto Derby!” Lucky Lekgwathi told SoccerLaduma.

“They win us the derby. Buthelezi kept a clean sheet and Maswanganyi won Man of the Match in his first Soweto Derby.

“That’s great. That just shows how impressive they have been. But as I have said all the new signings are good and those who have been given the chance to play – have all impressed.”

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker has broken his silence on the leg breaking tackle he received from Mamelodi Sundowns’ Bongani Zungu.

Now plying his trade for TS Galaxy. Bernard Parker was on the receiving end of a leg breaking tackle last month.

The Bafana Bafana legend underwent immediate surgery. He is now on the mend however he’ll remain on the sidelines for an extended period of time

“I think there was ill intent in the Zungu tackle,” Parker told SportsNightAmplified on MetroFM.

“I think it was a build up of emotions from him and looking at the two goals scored by Galaxy and how he was involved. When the incident happened, it was building up to it. We are all human and things like that do happen, I am not angry.”
