TSA PreCheck enrollment service.
On Thursday, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced the expansion of its TSA PreCheck program with the addition of eight new airlines.
TSA officials revealed that travelers flying on Air Premia, Air Tahiti Nui, Air Transat, Bahamasair, BermudAir, Iberia, La Compagnie and New Pacific Airlines flights will be eligible for the PreCheck expedited screening program.
“We are thrilled to offer TSA PreCheck to our passengers, further demonstrating our commitment to providing exceptional service and convenience,” Air Tahiti Nui Vice President Caroline Borawski said. “By joining this program, we aim to enhance the overall travel experience for our customers, making their journey smoother and more enjoyable.”
TSA PreCheck offers low-risk travelers a secure and efficient screening experience at more than 200 United States and territory airports, including the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas.
The federal agency reports that around 99 percent of TSA PreCheck passengers wait less than 10 minutes in dedicated lanes at airport checkpoints nationwide. Members are also not required to remove their shoes, belts, and light jackets.
In February, United Airlines added new information to its website about locations testing a new touchless TSA PreCheck process for its bag drop shortcut. As part of the testing taking place, facial recognition technology is being implemented, allowing travelers to move through security far more quickly without having to show a physical ID.
In December, the TSA added four new carriers to the PreCheck program: Norse Atlantic Airways, Lynx Air, Starlux Airlines, and Fiji Airways.
