'Together we will win': Putin makes grand speech after being sworn in for fifth term

Dear citizens of Russia, ladies and gentlemen, dear friends, in this solemn and responsible time of assuming the office of the Russian President, I would like to thank the citizens of the Russian Federation in all regions of the country, the citizens of our historic lands. I would like to thank the participants of the special military operation to I would like to thank everyone who’s fighting for our motherland. I would like to again thank you for the trust and support. I’m addressing every citizen of Russia. I have just given the oath, and in the text of this oath is this essence of the supreme role of the Russian President is to serve our people. I understand that this is a great honor and responsibility and a duty. This is what determined the essence of my work in the previous years, and I assure you that the interests and the security of the citizens of our country will be my utmost priority. These, the destiny of Russia, will be determined by ourselves only, and this will be done for today’s generation and future generations. This has a great significance, especially now when we are facing these challenges. I see the deep understanding of our historic role to defend our choice, to defend our freedom and to defend the national interests of Russia. We will go through this difficult time and we’ll be successful. We will be implementing and realizing long term plans and projects. We I’m sure that the support of our family traditions will be determining the social trends and the policies of our major parties. The decisions of for developing the region, regions of our country, should be sustainable. We will be open. We have been open and we will be open to anyone who is ready to become an honest partner to our country. And we are not even refusing the dialogue with Western countries. And we will see whether they will continue to try to halt the development of our country and continue putting pressure on our country, or they will look for ways of cooperating with us. Security and strategic stability dialogues are possible, but they are possible only on the basis of equal equal positions. We will be working with other serving centers of development and we will continue building a multipolar world in a complex world which is changing very quickly. We have to be self-sufficient and we have to be competitive. We have to open New Horizons for Russia. What’s important for us is to remember the lessons of our history, to remember the tragic price that we paid for internal mutiny. And we have to be stable and being able to bear any external pressure and defend the stability and independence of our country. Stability does not mean rigidity. Our system has to be flexible. We have to the the system has to ensure the possibilities for future development. We see that reliability, sincerity and bravery are in great value today. We will do everything possible so that people can can express their best qualities and those who have done this will be taken to lead, to taken into the key positions in in the government and State Department. We have to bring up new generations of Russians who will strengthen the country. We have to develop the country on the basis of respect between all the different ethnicities and a respect for our multicultural country. I will do everything possible, everything within my abilities to justify your trust. I will follow all the duties of the President of the State which I established in the Constitution. The results of this work will depend on our unity, on our joint single desire to to work for the benefit of our country. Today we we are responsible to our history. And today we see that people of the previous generations within our country put our country as their utmost priority. And they, these generations have created a world power. They have achieved triumphs that inspire us today and we’re confidently looking into the future. We are creating new plans and programs and are implementing them, and these programs will make us even stronger. We are a single and great nation and together we will overcome all obstacles and implement and realize everything that we dream off. And together we will win.
