Overwatch 2 Season 10 Battle Pass Drops the Ball With Venture
- Overwatch 2’s latest season introduces Venture as the 40th hero, but players are disappointed at the lack of skins for the new character.
- Venture’s kit revolves around their Smart Excavator drill weapon, providing unique abilities and gameplay reminiscent of Doomfist.
- While Venture was well-received during playtesting, fans are concerned about the lack of legendary skins for the character in Season 10.
The latest season for Overwatch 2 finally allows players to permanently unlock and play as Venture, but fans have noticed that despite this new character playing a central role in the latest season, it seems they’ll be getting an extremely slim pool of skins to choose from – for now, at least. Though Overwatch 2’s Season 10: Venture Forth event does pack a long list of interesting skins for a wide variety of heroes, it appears these come at the cost of cosmetics for the drill-wielding damage hero.
First revealed at the end of March and more recently made playable during a limited-time public playtest for the character, Venture is the 40th hero to come to the world of Overwatch 2. As an enthusiastic archaeologist, Venture’s kit consists of a number of abilities based on the Smart Excavator drill weapon they carry, including the ability to safely burrow under the ground for easy repositioning and dash forward to deal a powerful knockback melee attack to enemies. Along with passive abilities that both empower quick melee attacks as well as provide temporary shields upon using abilities, Venture’s kit is notably reminiscent of Doomfist’s original ability set. Venture is also the first playable non-binary character to come to Overwatch 2.

Venture was considerably well-received by players during their playtest period, though soon-to-be Venture mains in Overwatch 2 may be disappointed by the character’s available cosmetic options. While fans have gotten a glimpse at a couple of skins that Venture will come with once they roll out with Season 10, it appears that the Season 10 battle pass itself doesn’t include any new skins for the hero. This marks the first instance of a new hero not receiving a skin with their debut season’s pass, and some fans are worried that Venture may not even see any legendary skins until a future season. A post shared online by Snack-in-Mech sparked some community discussion regarding this topic, and shows off a couple of skins that Venture will be getting upon release.
What Else is Coming With Overwatch 2’s Season 10?
Close
Season 10 will feature a variety of interesting new skins for various heroes thanks to the limited-time Mirrorwatch event that will play out in Overwatch 2 between April 23rd and May 13th. This event is based on the premise of an alternate universe where Overwatch agents such as Tracer and Reinhardt are instead members of the antagonistic Talon organization, while Talon operatives such as Doomfist and Widowmaker appear as Overwatch members.
Along with new skins to match, some of these characters will also have their abilities switched up slightly in the new mode. While Overwatch 2 Season 10’s battle pass may not have much in store for Venture, it certainly does have a lot to offer overall, and will include earnable Overwatch Coins as an added bonus.
