When Acer invited us over to check out the new Acer Swift Go 14 laptop that they had, I was immediately awestruck by the triple monitor setup that they had for it. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that it was connected to their new portable dual screen monitor setup, the Acer PD163Q.
Acer PD163Q: This portable monitor has not one but two 15.6″ displays, priced at RM1,699
The name of the Acer PD163Q might not tell you much about the device, but it is essentially a dual screen foldable monitor that gives users a compact and portable way to bring with them not one but two additional displays on the go. It packs two 15.6-inch IPS screens, each pushing a 1920 x 1080p FHD resolution with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. These panels offer 99% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut and 72% of the NTSC colour gamut, 250nits of peak brightness along with an 8ms grey-to-grey response time too.
The Acer PD163Q also comes with a HDMI and USB-C cable in the box, as that will be what you will use to both hook it up to your laptop as well as power it up; it has two USB-C ports, a mini HDMI input and audio out ports. The back of the PD163Q also has a built-in kickstand which lets you adjust the angles of both displays as you wish, and you can also fold back the secondary screen if you only wish to use one of its displays. Alternatively, you can also orient them vertically if you wish to have a pair of vertical displays instead. There’s a pair of 2W speakers and even 75mm VESA mounts on the back.
The Acer PD163Q is already available for purchase at the Acer Malaysia eStore, the official Acer store on Shopee and Lazada as well as all Acer authorised resellers nationwide with a recommended retail price of RM1,699.
