Three PSL clubs Steve Komphela likely to join after Swallows exit

Having parted ways with Moroka Swallows on Monday, Steve Komphela is now in the job market and available for the takers.

The 56-year-old sent a heartfelt message to the players, coaching staff, and supporters.

“To Moroka Swallows staff and players, may I kindly take the opportunity to thank you for your amazing perseverance and professionalism?” Steve Komphela wrote in his statement.

“You portrayed selfless resilience, irrespective of circumstances. There were moments where none of us would know what more to say to you, but you always carried yourself with poise, pride, dignity, and amazing respect.

“Thank you for respecting the game, the league, and the supporters. I will always respect you and remember you.

“Finally, at least, at the least, the suspense and the sad, painful uncertainty come to a decisive end. May you be blessed henceforth and forever. Notwithstanding the circumstances, you have already collected 19 points to build from,” he said.

Komphela joined the Dube Birds this season and managed to steer them into the top eight before financial woes hit the club around December.

The former Kaizer Chiefs coach may have options in the next few weeks.

KwaZulu-Natal club Richards Bay are 15th on the log and could be caught by Cape Town Spurs, who just won their second game of the season.

Kaitano Tembo is under fire and could get sacked before March to make way for Steve Komphela.

Another that could use the services of the ex-Chiefs coach is Chippa United.

Having demoted Morgan Mammila late last year, the Chilli Boys have struggled for wins and could look at Komphela to push them into the top eight.

Steve could return to Sundowns before the end of the season

Before joining Swallows, the 56-year-old mentor was a senior coach at Sundowns and he might return to Chloorkop if his services are still required.
