Thirdy Ravena, San-En continue to roll, but Kai’s B-Corsairs crash

THIRDY Ravena and the San-En NeoPhoenix continued their strong run to the Japan B.League playoffs, routing SeaHorses Mikawa, 102-83, on Wednesday at Toyohashi City Gymnasium.

The Filipino import powered the home team with a double-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists as the NeoPhoenix rose to a 37-9 record.

Kai Sotto, on the other hand, saw his strong of double digit scoring snapped in the Yokohama B-Corsairs’ 80-64 loss to Fighting Eagles Nagoya at Nagoya Biwajima Sports Center.

The 7-foot-3 big man was held to just seven points, althought he got three blocks and two boards in the loss that sent his side down 21-25.

Ray Parks also got the better of Matthew Wright as Nagoya Diamond Dolphins took the 90-83 win over Kyoto Hannaryz at Kataoka Arena Kyoto.

Parks registered 13 points, five boards, two assists, and one steal that pushed Nagoya to 29-17; in contrast to Wright who had 14 points, four rebounds, two dimes, and two steals saw his Kyoto team fall to 13-33.

Dwight Ramos only had eight points in Levanga Hokkaido’s 98-71 defeat to Alvark Tokyo at Hokkai Kitayell that sent the hosts down to a 13-33 slate.

RJ Abarrientos scored three points in Shinshu Brave Warriors’ 65-58 setback to SunRockers Shibuya at Ariake Coliseum that condemned the also-ran Shinshu to 6-40.

Over in B2, Shiga Lakes bounced back with a 93-89 thriller over the Kumamoto Volters at Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium despite Kiefer Ravena only nabbing three points, five rebounds, and two assists. They rise to 37-15.

Roosevelt Adams, meanwhile, balled out in Yamagata Wyverns’ 87-85 escape of Iwate Big Bulls at Yamagata City General Sports Center.

The Fil-Am forward garnered 20 points and eight rebounds to lift his team to an even 26-26 card.
