Graham Potter and Roberto De Zerbi are the two leading candidates to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United this summer.

The Dutchman is likely to be sacked at the end of the season, following a disastrous second campaign at Old Trafford.

United finished bottom of their Champions League group and they’re seventh in the Premier League, with a negative goal difference after 32 matches.

The Red Devils have won just one of their last seven Premier League matches, and they’re set to finish outside the top five.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe now in full control of football operations, there is expected to be sizeable changes at Old Trafford this summer.

INEOS have vowed to get the ‘best in class’ in each department, and they’ve already made moves for Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox.

But the manager’s role is the biggest decision and Manchester World say Ten Hag is clinging onto his job.

The two frontrunners to replace the Dutchman are Brighton boss De Zerbi and former Brighton boss Potter.

De Zerbi has continued Potter’s fine work, and the Italian would cost around £15m in compensation.

Potter is admired by INEOS and as he’s out of work, he represents a cheaper alternative to De Zerbi.

The Englishman was sacked after just ten months at Stamford Bridge, despite Chelsea paying around £20m to extract him from his contract.

Ten Hag has a year left on his deal, and would receive around £8m in compensation if he was to be sacked.
