Wall Street is pointed towards a higher open as the markets come off a mostly negative week. The S&P 500 is on track for its worst month since November of 2022. the United Auto Workers are celebrating a huge win at a Volkswagen plant in Tennessee where workers will now be represented by the union. The UAW winning 73% of the vote after losing 2 elections there in the past decade. The South is the least unionized part of the country. The UA WS next targets are two Mercedes-Benz plants in Alabama. Where workers will vote next month and Express files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with plans to close more than 100 stores. The fashion retailer owns brands such as Express, Bonobos and Up West. It will close 95 Express locations and all twelve of its Up West stores. It operates more than 530 stores in the US and Puerto Rico. Express has been struggling with softer demand from consumers due to slowing spending patterns and a shoppers become more sensitive to higher prices.
