Not to mention, its watches have a timeless and classic design that is distinctly Japanese, and they can be modded to fit your style and taste.
Seiko has a huge collection of watches ranging from mid-price to high-end, which can make choosing your first Seiko watch a challenging ordeal. In order to make things easier for you, we’ve rounded up a list of the current 10 bestselling Seiko watches in the Philippines according to its website. You’ll be glad to know that a majority of these are below P50,000!
A Brief History of Seiko
Seiko, founded in 1881 by 21-year-old Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo, is one of the world’s oldest watchmakers. Initially selling wall clocks, the company shifted to pocket watches in 1895 due to Japan’s changing timekeeping needs.
Inspired by Japan’s evolving timekeeping methods, Seiko introduced its first wristwatch, the Seiko Laurel, in 1913. The brand’s inaugural watch under the ‘Seikosha’ name launched in 1924, quickly becoming a hit and shaping Seiko’s legacy in the industry.
The company continued to innovate, launching Japan’s first wristwatch with a stopwatch in 1964 and its first Diver’s watch in 1965. Throughout its over a century-long history, Seiko has consistently adapted and embraced new technologies to create captivating timepieces for a global audience.
10 Bestselling Seiko Watches In the Philippines
1. Prospex SSC813
In 1969, Seiko revolutionized chronographs with the introduction of the Seiko Speedtimer featuring the Caliber 6139, the world’s first automatic chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch. Today, Seiko pays homage to its legacy with the SSC813 Prospex Speedtimer, known as the “Panda” because of its white dial and black subdials.
Powered by Seiko’s solar Caliber V192, it features a 60-minute chronograph, 24-hour sub-dial, and power reserve indicator. With applied sandblast finishing for enhanced readability, the 39mm case, polished bracelet, and curved sapphire glass blend vintage charm with modern sophistication.

2. Seiko 5 Sports SSK003
For over half a century, Seiko 5 Sports has been cherished by watch enthusiasts worldwide for its reliability, durability, performance, and value. The Seiko 5 Sports SSK003 is tailored for global travelers, featuring a black and blue dial with prominent red GMT hands for easy visibility. Lumibrite coating ensures legibility in low-light conditions, while the rotating bezel, divided into day and night hours, enhances international convenience. Crafted with Seiko’s renowned Hardlex glass, the bezel guarantees durability. The case and dial design exude sporty elegance, complemented by a five-row bracelet with polished middle rows for a striking contrast and solid feel.

3. Seiko 5 Sports SRPK33
Another standout from the Seiko 5 Sports SKX-inspired series is the SRPK33 watch, featuring automatic movement and a day-date display at the three o’clock position, complemented by a recessed crown at four o’clock for enhanced comfort. The watch is distinguished by its brilliant turquoise blue dial, which, paired with vibrant yellow-outlined hands, offers a striking aesthetic. Built with durability in mind, both the case and bracelet are designed to withstand daily wear and tear.
What sets the SRPK33 apart from the SSK003 is its specialized dive watch bezel, rather than a GMT hand or bezel. This bezel, engraved with a 60-minute scale, serves as a countdown timer. To begin a dive, the wearer aligns the minute hand with the zero marker, typically a triangle, allowing for easy and accurate time tracking underwater as the hand progresses. Additionally, like all Seiko Sports 5 watches, the SRPK33 offers a robust 10-bar (100M) water resistance, ensuring its suitability for swimming and shallow diving.

Like the SRPK33 it has the same five attributes shared by all 5 Sports designs (automatic movement, day-date display, water resistance, recessed crown, and durable case and bracelet), but with a timeless black dial and bezel making it a breeze to style with any outfit.

5. Prospex SSC911
The Prospex SSC911 and current number one best seller SSC813 may look identical at first glance, but they each have their own standout features that make them unique. Both watches run on the same reliable solar quartz movement and share similar specs, but once you take a closer look, that’s when you start to notice where they diverge. For starters, SSC911 lights up with a bright green LumiBrite on all its hour markers and hands, while SSC813 opts for a more subtle bright blue on select spots. When it comes to size, SSC911 takes the lead with a bigger 41.4mm dial, while SSC813 is a tad smaller at 39mm. Design-wise, SSC911 rocks a sleek silver dial, whereas SSC813 goes for a white look. Even their chronograph hands and bezel colors play a part in setting them apart. Despite these differences, both watches are comfy fits. If you’re after a bulkier, more robust feel, the SSC911 might be your pick, while the SSC813 offers a slightly lighter and slimmer option.

6. Seiko 5 Sports SSK001K1 BOY GMT
One of the key reasons people adore Seiko watches, particularly the Seiko 5 Sports line, is their modifiability. The SSK001 stands out as a fan favorite, prized not only for its modding potential but also as one of the best affordable GMT watches on the market. For those unfamiliar, GMT watches, while popular, often come with a heftier price tag due to their complexity. Rolex’s GMT-Master II and Explorer II are prime examples, with prices exceeding half a million pesos. If a Rolex isn’t within reach just yet, rest assured—the SSK001 offers a satisfying alternative. And if you get tired of its look, just search through Reddit watch forums and you’ll find tons of modding how-to’s to help you deck your watch out to your liking.

Boasting a sleek black dive bezel paired with a captivating cream dial, this timepiece truly steals the spotlight. Like other Seiko 5 Sports watches, it features luminous hands and markers for easy time reading in low-light conditions. With a 10-bar water resistance rating, it may not be suited for deep-sea diving, but it’s more than ready for poolside lounging or beachside adventures. Imagine how that elegant cream dial would shimmer against the backdrop of sun, sand, and surf—it’s the perfect summer watch!

8. Prospex SPB121J1
Meet the Prospex SPB121J1 also known as the Alpinist. If you’re a long-time Seiko enthusiast then you’ll know this is as the new edition of the OG SARB017. Despite the fact that many deemed its forest green dial with gold accents and a brown textured strap “unusual,” it became an instant hit in its release in 2006. The watch was discontinued in 2018, but soon enough, the SPB121J1 was introduced.
Visually, the SPB121J1 and its predecessor, are nearly identical, but this new edition features an exhibition caseback, a clearer date magnifier, and reduced text on the dial for a cleaner look. The case size has also increased slightly, making it appear more substantial on the wrist. Internally, the SPB121J1 boasts Seiko’s upgraded 6R35 movement, offering a 70-hour power reserve compared to the SARB017’s 6R15 at only 50 hours. While the upgrade may not be essential for SARB017 owners, the new Alpinist remains a solid and attractive watch in Seiko’s signature style, even as prices in the Prospex collection rise. Overall, the new Alpinist offers good value for its features.
